Great Moments in Cinematic Littering 2

The Simpsons Movie, if you haven't yet seen it, deals with many of the problems of our generation: playing dress-up with pet pigs, leading vs. reading, the importance of well-maintained scissor lifts, and of course, illegal garbage dumping.

Homer decides that the only recourse for disposal of his silo of pig poop is to dump it into the local lake.

I would just like to note that illegal dumping of waste is a class D felony.

As the silo sinks ...

... Pollutants start to react.

Hm. A bit forboding, no?

I'll be the first to admit that looking for a moral in the Simpsons movie is a fruitless endevor but I am gratified by the movie's nod to the negative impact illegal garbage dumps have on the environment, even if the EPA turns out to be the bad guy in the end.
