Filth on film!
I realize that I must be about forty years lagging in my cultural knowledge.
For the first time ever, I just heard Arlo Guthrie's Alice's Kitchen in its entirety. It is, for a myriad of reasons, brilliant.
It also mentions something that we here at Boone County Solid Waste deal with quite a bit: Illegal garbage dumps. In fact, we just made a bunch of fancy new webpages to help explain what we do, as far as garbage enforcement.
Unfortunately, we don't have "aerial photography" like they did at Arlo's trash dump. We don't even have arrest or citation powers. What we do have is a duty to file a complaint in the County Attorney's office against anyone who feels the need to leave their debris where is doesn't belong.
And with Kelly Chapman, the best enforcement officer on the planet, that's all we need.
This is me and Kelly out in the County truck.
