Recounting Our Hours

So, who celebrated Earth Hour?

I did! I used a lantern to guide my chili cooking and then had an extremely enjoyable dinner with my beau by candlelight. We discussed why on earth I was asking him to turn off his computer for an arbitrary hour and then pondered the efficacy of these gestures of environmental solidarity. If nothing else, Earth Hour got me thinking about both the global nature of environmental problems as well as the extrememly personal aspect of eco-activism. Mission: Accomplished.
