Plants are people, too

While this fits into the ecology column, it has little impact on your life. It just makes me smile.

The Swiss government has ruled it illegal to humiliate plants. You can check out their entire report on "The Diginity of Living Beings With Regard to Plants" or just read my favorite part of it:

The Committee members unanimously consider an arbitrary harm caused to plants to be morally impermissible. This kind of treatment would include, e.g. decapitation of
wild flowers at the roadside without rational reason.

For the first time ever, I feel a little uneasy about being vegetarian. heh heh...
